updated on the history of the company, the services we offer and current
projects that we have underway. Shown here was a Lunch & Learn designed for
and presented at Greenline Architecture. With over 20 people in attendance,
it was a packed house!

First National Bank, Tybee Island
PIONEER is excited to be a part of Tybee Island’s history! The island’s first and only bank branch will soon move from the mobile unit they currently reside in to the location of the old visitor’s center on Highway 80. The First National Bank of Tybee branch is expected to be complete by late summer 2008.

Carter Office Building, Savannah
Construction is set to begin soon on the new Carter Office Building in the Southern Oaks Professional Park. This Design-Build project, with the owner partnering with PIONEER Construction and Kern Coleman Architects, will feature a 3,000 square foot office building. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2008.

Georgia Ports Authority, Port Wentworth
PIONEER Construction has recently begun work on the Container Berth 8 Reefer Racks at the Georgia Ports Authority. This project, designed by Moffat & Nichol, is part of the Port’s overall expansion of services.
In addition to the updates being completed at Container Berth 8, PCI is well underway with the renovations at the Marine Control Building. With the Savannah port being one of the busiest ports in the country, both Georgia Ports Authority projects were designed to allow for better management of the increased Port traffic.

Imperial Sugar, Port Wentworth
The PIONEER team followed closely the recent tragedies of the Imperial Sugar family with great concern and prayer. Today, we are excited to be a part of the re-building effort that has begun at the plant. The PCI team will be overseeing the demolition and re-construction of the Char House roof. Teaming with Thomas & Hutton engineers, PCI expects this first phase to be complete in September.

New Plant Renovations at Georgia Pacific Gypsum
Pioneer Construction, Inc. recently completed a new executive office addition and plant renovations at the Georgia Pacific gypsum plant in Savannah.

Island's Police Precinct Completed

Pioneer Construction, Inc. has recently completed construction on the new Island's Police Precinct located on Whitemarsh Island, Savannah, Georgia. This 6,147 square foot facility, designed by Kern-Coleman & Company, includes state-of-the-art hurricane protection and is located adjacent to the Coastal Middle School and the YMCA.

Pioneer Construction, Inc. officially launched a new company web site today. This is the first web presence for the growing construction firm based in Savannah, Georgia.

Rebuilding Together Savannah
On April 22, 2006 Pioneer Construction participated in its third year of “Rebuilding Together Savannah”.
“Rebuilding Together” is a national non-profit organization that selects candidates through an application process based on criteria including income level and special needs such as handicap or safety issues. This year ten candidates were chosen to have construction work performed. Rosalee Blige was chosen by Pioneer Construction to have modifications performed at her home. Repairs included new kitchen cabinets with countertop and stainless steel sink, new lighting and handicap bars in bathroom, new back steps with handrail and repairs to back door, soffit and termite damaged sill plate.
